Donor International Renaissance Foundation
The aim of the project was to shape understanding of the traditions of Magdeburg rights among local officials and involve them in current European programs, and the search of active young people interested in the development of local self-government in order to support their commitment to European values.
The project was aimed at raising awareness among local community members of the origins of institutions of local government, their connection with the traditions of Magdeburg rights. Moreover, the project seeks to promote remote areas, facilitate acceptance of European integration and compliance trends in the development of local government according to relevant European trends.
For this purpose YA has conducted nationwide competition within the framework on which young people developed presentations of their regions/cities in the light of its system of local self-government, establishment of European legal systems, development in accordance to European models, and prepared the appropriate essays. The best presentation is posted on the website of the organization, on YouTube, on social networks and the sites of partner organizations.
